Reimagining the ‘Everyday Bar’ Barbeque Nation came to us to create an unconventional concept for their new resto-bar, Bricks. They gave us a clean slate to craft with no legacy themes or visual baggage. Our challenge was to translate this vision into an identity that felt fresh, unfiltered, and rooted in everyday social experiences.

For Bricks we covered identity design, illustration and art direction as one system, so coasters, menus and every other customer touchpoint came from the same visual language instead of being designed independently.
Start from the competitive position, not the mood board. Bricks needed an identity distinct enough to register in an expanding bar scene, so we built it around a specific position rather than a generic hospitality look.
Illustration carried Bricks' tone across the identity, giving the venue a visual character that communicates its energy independently of what it serves.
It holds the system together once it leaves the studio. Art direction governed how Bricks' identity and illustration translated across customer-facing touchpoints, keeping it consistent from signage through to menu design.
Positioning first. We developed Bricks' identity around a defined competitive position within Bangalore's nightlife market, with the visual direction following from that rather than standing in for it.
